A Step-by-Step Guide

What is Cetus?

Cetus is a pioneer dex and concentraded liquidity protocol, focusing on ecosystems that use the programming language Move, such as Aptos and Sui. By developing its concentrated liquidity protocol and a set of affiliate functional modules, Cetus aims to provide DeFi users with a superior trading experience and enhanced capital efficiency.

Cetus protocol’s mainnet is live on Aptos and has a testnet on Sui.

The Cetus Bridge is powered by Wormhole, an interoperability protocol that makes it possible for value and information to move seamlessly across 20 high-value chains with just one integration. Ethereum, Solana, Binance Smart Chain, Polygon, Avalanche, Algorand, Fantom, Karura, Celo, Acala, Aptos, and Arbitrum are among the long list of chains this generic message passing protocol is able to connect to.

Preparation: What you’ll need

Logos: Chrome, Brave, Metamask, Petra Wallet

Browser: Chrome OR Brave Browser

To use the Petra Wallet you must install a Chrome browser extension. You can use the extension with any browser that supports Chrome extensions from the Chrome Web Store. I recommend Brave since it’s faster than Chrome, besides other features.

Wallets:

✓ Metamask

You need the Metamask wallet extenstion in order to connect with the Cetus dApp Bridge on other chains then Aptos, such as Ethereum Mainnet, BSC, etc.

👉 To download the Metamask Extension click here.

✓ Petra Wallet

Even though the list of Aptos wallets that are supported on Cetus is long (as you can see in the following picture), we use the Petra Wallet in this guide.

How to Use Cetus Bridge

Example: How to bridge 10 USDC from BSC to Aptos

Preparation:

In order to bridge and pay for transaction fees, make sure you have sufficient BNB and/or the relevant token of the network you want to swap from in your Metamask wallet.

Steps:

  • Enter the Cetus Bridge page by clicking here or, when entering from the Cetus homepage, click on Bridge.
  • Click Connect and then approve the connection in Metamask.
  • Go to the list of supported chains to choose the source chain.
  • Click on Binance Smart Chain to choose it as source chain.
  • Allow Cetus to switch the network to BSC in Metamask.
  • Click Select a Token.
  • All available tokens are listed, simply click on the desired token. In this example, USDC is bridged.
  • Enter the amount you want to bridge (e.g. 10).
  • Click Next.
  • Leave Aptos as Target Chain and click Connect.
  • Select Petra (or your favorite Aptos wallet).
  • Approve the connection request in your Petra wallet.

  • Confirm the transaction in Metamask.
  • Click Redeem for the 10 USDC to be delivered to your Petra wallet.
  • Approve the transaction in your Petra wallet.
  • You will see a summary of the prior completed procedures and a confirmation notification if the bridging was successful.

Congrats! You’ve successfully used the Cetus Bridge! 👏

How to Add Liquidity in Cetus Pools

Example: How to add liquidity to the APT/USDC pool (Wormhole)

Preparation:

Make sure that you have $APT and $USDC or the relevant tokens of the pool you want to add liquidity to and to pay for transaction fees. It’s also possible to add small amounts like 0.1 APT and 0.38 USDC to pools.

You can buy APT on major exchanges like Binance or Coinbase. If you don’t have USDC on Aptos available in your wallet, simply swap some APT for USDC.

Steps:

  • Go to the Cetus Pools page by clicking here or, when entering from the Cetus homepage, click on Pools.
  • Make sure you’re on the Aptos network and then click Connect.
  • Select Petra wallet (or the Aptos wallet of your choosing).
  • Approve the connection in your Petra wallet.
  • Click on Wormhole.
  • Look for the APT/USDC pool and click Add Liquidity.
  • Enter the amount of APT you wish to add to the pool. The required USDC amount (which has the same value as APT) will be calculated automatically. 1 APT is worth rounded $3.92 at the time of writing.
  • Click Add to pool.
  • Click on the token of your choosing to make your selection.
    We use USDC as example.
  • Click on Confirm Supply and approve the transaction in your Petra wallet.

Congrats! You’ve successfully added liquidity to the Cetus APT/USDC pool! 👏

That’s it! But wait… Did you know that you can clap up to 50x while holding on to the 👏 emoji? Give it a go! 😜

Take care!
